Light malt extract (LME) agar is a balanced medium to support dense, structured growth of fungi. Its rich nutrient profile encourages natural and stable mycelial growth, this is the gold standard in agar lab work.
We don't add colour to our LME agar leaving it a natural amber colour, this makes each of our recipes easy to identify.
Pre-poured in 90mm triple vented Petri dishes.
We recommend using your plates straight away to avoid contamination.
If you need to store them, package them upside-down in an air-tight container in the fridge and aim to use them as soon as possible.
All plates will come wrapped in Parafilm with an extra strip of Parafilm per plate for you to wrap again once used.
Always perform lab work in front of a laminar flow hood, or at least in a still air box, contamination is everywhere and waiting for food like nutrient rich agar.
We pour our agar plates one per week so please allow 7-10 days for delivery.
