Black pearl oyster Liquid Culture Syringe – 10ml (Sterile, Sealed)
Live mycelium suspended in nutrient-rich liquid | Sealed sterile syringe with needle | Refrigeration required
Each syringe contains 10ml of high-performance mycelium, grown in a sterilised liquid medium (light malt extract with added yeast extract) and expanded under clean lab conditions. Cultures are drawn in a sterile environment, batch-tested, and sealed in individual packs.
Liquid cultures allow for fast, uniform colonisation of sterilised grain, agar, or even substrate (in sterile setups). Ideal for growers looking to start their own culture lines, inoculate large batches, or scale efficiently.
- Sterile 10ml syringe with 18G needle
- Fast colonisation + long shelf life
- Clean, contaminant-free and strain-verified
- Grown in LME + yeast extract for vigorous expansion
Ideal for: Inoculating sterilised grain (rye or millet), agar plates, or LC-to-LC transfers
Dispatch: please allow 7 days before shipping (made to order)
Storage: Refrigerate on arrival (2–5°C). Best used within 2 months. Shake gently before use.
Inoculation tip: Flame-sterilise the needle and inject via the bag’s self-healing port under sterile conditions
Starter Guide: Inoculating Grain with Liquid Culture
You’ve received: a 10ml liquid culture syringe + sterile needle.
What you need:
- Sterilised grain bag or jar with injection port
- 70% Isopropyl alcohol + flame source (e.g. lighter)
- Clean working space (still air box or ideally laminar flow hood)
Instructions:
- Start in front of your laminar flow hood or in still air box.
- Sanitise the injection port and your gloves with isopropyl alcohol.
- Flame-sterilise the needle until glowing red. Allow to cool for 2–3 seconds.
- Inject 1–2ml of liquid culture through the port into the grain bag. You can move the needle around to distribute more evenly.
- Seal and mix gently if needed. Place in incubation environment appropriate for the species (usually 20–24°C).
- Wait for colonisation: Grain will start to colonise within 5–10 days. Once fully white and even, it’s ready to transfer to bulk substrate.
Storage tip: Refrigerate unused LC at 2–5°C for up to 2 months.
Sterility tip: Flame the needle before every use. Never inject directly into substrate without grain.
